Meet Natasha

42008353204_30447a5137_oNatasha is a 3 year veteran of Crohn’s from Portland, OR. She has been fortunate of staying away from surgery, but that fear is real in her life.

Remicade is her drug of choice right now and has been in remission for 6 months now.

Even working in healthcare and going to school to be a nurse, it is difficult. Having to explain to others why she is sick or why her daily life is not as ‘normal’ as others. Not everyone understands what we go through on a daily basis is hard to put into words. She has even had to differ her college enrollment due to Crohn’s.

I love Natasha’s attitude in saying that ‘While this disease is limiting, I refuse to let it define me.’ This is an incredible motto to live by, for any crohnnie or anyone that has a silent disease. We don’t choose to have this disease, it chooses us.

In Natasha’s spare time, she loves to travel, meet new people, volunteer and explore. Unfortunately, it has held her back from the active lifestyle that she wants so badly. It has also held her back in relationships in the past. She now has a very supportive boyfriend that stand by her side in the trenches.

It is Natasha that I run for.

Want to help find a cure? Please help me get to my new goal of $3000 and support me and my ‘crohnnies’ help find a cure and run this marathon together.
