July Roundup

IMG_1704.pngI woke up to a message from a friend from high school telling me that his 15 year old daughter has been battling Crohn’s for the last 5 years and Remicade has been good for her until recently. I think back on my days dealing with Crohn’s at the age of 15 and trying to deal with sports and the flares of Crohn’s. It can be tough as a kid.

As I went out for my run this morning to cap out my month and put me over the 130 mile mark, I thought about those days that I have struggled in dealing with Crohn’s over the last 35 years. Crohn’s is a marathon in life and thought about that as I barreled through my 6.5 miles this morning. Luckily, I am fortunate that I have been ‘healthy’ for the last 3 and a half years and now in the best shape that I can remember.

We have got to get a cure for Crohn’s and Colitis. Please help me get to my goal of $2500 and support me and my ‘crohnnies’ help find a cure and run this marathon together.

The miles are stacking up and this coming month will be the most miles ran as I prepare for Chicago. Approximately 150 miles are on the calendar for this month.

July wrap up and highlights:

  • Longest run at 14 miles
  • First ‘Half Marathon’ distance ever a couple times at a 9:15 pace
  • Miles ran: 130 at a total of 8:41 pace (21 runs)
  • I got to run in 3 different states (IN, OH, KY)
