Mondays can be tough and I get that. A lot of people will have a nice relaxing weekend and can have a hard time getting going come Monday morning. My thoughts are mornings are as hard as you make them.
I am an early riser and people ask me how I do it and I think it all comes down to drive. My alarm goes off at 5am and I just want to keep on hitting the snooze, but I know I just can’t do that multiple times. I will admit that I will hit it once and lay there in the peace and quiet. The first steps of getting out of bed can be the hardest. I know that I have to get a run in for the morning to start my day and week off right.
Some people will listen to audio books, podcasts and music. Most of the time, I will jam to music while I run that is more upbeat to keep me going. This morning, I tried something a little different and threw on some jazz (I must be showing my age). It was actually kind of a nice change of pace and as I ran, I was thinking through my week and how to conquer it and my to-do list. Try listening to something different when you run. It will give you a different perspective on things.
When I get to the gym, I always have a number of miles in mind and this morning it was 3 to start the week off. 25ish laps later, I got my 3 in a decent time so I really can’t complain.
